Day of the Mills at Laar
Get enchanted by the past and admire the technology and the function of a historic water mill at the Day of the Mills at the Laar Mill!
On the German Day of the Mills on the Monday following Whitsunday, May 28, 2011, from 11 am to 5 pm, you have the opportunity to get to know the Laar Mill. At 12 noon, 2 pm and 4 pm, there are guided tours that allow you to see the old milling appliances.
Food and beverages will be on sale. Apart from various sweet and hearty delights, also the delicious Mill Bread will be sold. For the youngest visitors, there will be a quiz about the Laar Mill and fairytale performances of the Spielraum-Theatre Kassel.
The Laar Mill is located halfway between Zierenberg and Obermeiser. The mill is easily accessible by bike or foot. A shuttle service is offered starting from the market place at Zierenberg. The first tour to the mill starts at 11:30 am, please ask at the café at the market for further tours. Should you travel by car, please be aware of the changed traffic routing (one-way road from Laar to Escheberg). You are kindly asked to adhere to the no-parking zone behind the prohibition sign at the Laar manor.
