Trick fountains in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe
Experience the historic show of the trick fountains and the illuminated trick fountains in the Bergpark (“mountain park”) Wilhelmshöhe at Kassel.
From the feet of the Herkules (“Hercules”) monument, the water runs over a sophisticated system of cascades and other stations, before a giant fountain rises to a height of 52 metres, forming the great finale.
Schedule for the trick fountains
The trick fountains are operated from May 1 to October 3 every Wednesday and Sunday, as well as on public holidays. Start at the feet of the Herkules at 14:30, fountain 15:30, end of the show at 15:45.
The visitors’ centre at the feet of the Herkules building is opened all year round and serves as a welcome desk and information centre for visitors of Kassel’s icon. It is also a contact centre for hikers, walkers in the Bergpark, as well as visitors of the trick fountains. On 550 square metres, it offers a recreation room with sanitary facilities and an area, in which texts, pictures and films on the Herkules, the trick fountains and the Mountain Park can be found. The museum shop offers the opportunity to buy books and various products around the Museumslandschaft (“museum landscape”) Hessen-Kassel.

Experience the unrivalled show of illuminated trick fountains during twilight on June 2, July 7 and 21, August 4 and 18, as well as on September 1, 2012. After nightfall, more than 100 spotlights in all colours will bestow picturesque effects upon water, flora, and architecture.
NB: The spacious ways in the historic gardens are not lit up. If you would like to make a walk through the park in the evening, you should by no means forget appropriate footwear and a torch.
